This Jeanneau Merry Fisher 925 is a well-specified and sensibly upgraded example of this ever-popular cruising and fishing cruiser. Built in 2006 and launched in 2008, she offers a reassuringly solid ride, excellent handling characteristics and genuinely comfortable accommodation for family cruising or extended weekends afloat.
Hull, Deck & Cockpit
The decks are GRP with a teak overlay to both the cockpit and bathing platform, giving a smart and practical finish that’s easy to live with. Ground tackle is well sorted with a Bruce anchor on 15 metres of chain and 70 metres of eight-plait rope, all operated via an electric windlass with chain counter and a dedicated control within the chain locker. Stainless guardrails run the length of the decks, while davits, swim ladder and boat hook add to her cruising practicality.
The cockpit is set up for real use, featuring a hot and cold shower, canvas cockpit cover and window wipers and washers to improve visibility underway. Two opening ports and an opening hatch in the forward cabin provide good ventilation, while a large double lazarette offers excellent storage. The boat is well equipped with cruising essentials including four warps and eight fenders. The cockpit is finished with a bespoke table and three folding hardwood benches, creating an inviting space for entertaining or relaxing at anchor.
Engine & Electrical
She is powered by a Volvo Penta D4 260hp diesel engine on shaft drive, showing approximately 1,100 hours. Performance and handling are enhanced by trim tabs, a bow thruster and a four-bladed bronze propeller, making her easy to manage in close quarters and well balanced underway.
Fuel is carried in a 400-litre welded aluminium tank, while fresh water capacity is provided by a 200-litre sterile PVC tank. Hot water is supplied via a water heater heated from the engine or shore power. The electrical system includes two batteries charged from both engine and shore power, a dedicated forward battery for the bow thruster, a battery charger and a 20-metre shore power cable with meter.
Accommodation & Interior
Below decks, the Merry Fisher 925 offers a bright and comfortable interior layout. Forward is a double berth, with an additional single berth guest cabin, while the saloon seating converts easily into a further double berth when required. Upholstery is finished in blue cloth, complemented by teak and holly effect manufactured board flooring throughout.
The saloon features comfortable seating with a dining table, a dedicated chart table and a 12-volt television with disc player. The galley is well equipped for extended stays aboard, with a sink, two-burner hob, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. The separate heads compartment includes a full-size manual toilet, wash basin and shower, with a pumped 50-litre holding tank and gauge.
Navigation & Electronics
The lower helm is fitted with a Raymarine Axiom Pro multifunction display, NMEA-connected to the engine and additional Raymarine ST40 and ST60 instruments located at the upper helm. Controls at the lower helm include the chain counter and windlass control, bow thruster and trim tab controls, rudder sensor, music radio and an Icom IC-M423G VHF with connected handset.
At the upper helm, navigation equipment includes a Garmin GPSMAP 750, Raymarine ST60 tri-data display, engine start/stop, VHF handset, bow thruster and trim tab controls, and a compass, providing excellent visibility and redundancy when cruising from the flybridge.
Summary
This Jeanneau Merry Fisher 925 represents a well-maintained, generously equipped example of a proven and versatile cruiser. With dependable diesel power, excellent onboard systems and comfortable accommodation, she is ideally suited to family cruising, coastal adventures or relaxed weekends on the water.
