2001 – Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.2 with a Yanmar 75hp engine

Designed to stand up to all that the sea can deliver, this impressive sailboat represents the harmonious balance between performance, comfort, and elegance.

Grumpy Bear is a very well-maintained example of the popular Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.2. She has had one owner from new, who originally specified the vessel with a comprehensive list of upgrades and optional extras, resulting in a well-equipped and comfortable cruising yacht.

The Sun Odyssey 45.2 has fine entry lines, a responsive and quick hull, and an unencumbered deck layout. In all weather conditions, even on autopilot, the Sun Odyssey 45.2 holds its course exceptionally well. The electronic instrumentation is visible from each of the twin helm stations. Even shorthanded sailing is made easy with the slab reef main and genoa, and the rigid boom vang. Everything on board has been considered for peace of mind under sail. The cockpit, divided into 3 sections, is large and ideal for all types of use. The teak-battened stern skirt is wide and deep, and has two swinging doors for quick and easy stern entry. There are twin wheel helm stations, a folding cockpit table and long, comfortable seats for those on watch. There is plenty of accessible storage in two big sail lockers, plus a big watertight compartment towards the stern. The interior of the Sun Odyssey 45.2 is a prime example of quality and comfort with 4 cabins – 2 heads. Below deck there is an immense navigation station, bookshelves, storage compartments, and a big galley with an expansive countertop. The salon seats up to ten people around a stately table for a warm and cozy atmosphere. The spacious head compartment is equipped, along with the standard equipment, with a shower area and floor grating for comfort and safety.

Hull

Solid laminate hand laid GRP hull. Fore and aft GRP stringers running from bow to stern with lateral GRP bearers to form a matrix supporting the mast foot and keel. The hull is finished in the optional extra blue gelcoat.  The hull was repainted in 2007 approx. and was professionally machine compounded and waxed including the superstructure in January 2026 by Desty Marine in Hamble.
