1997 – Sunseeker Camargue 51 with newly fitted FTP Engines

Parker Adams Boat Sales are pleased to bring to market this superb 1997 Sunseeker Camargue 51, combining the timeless styling and craftsmanship of a classic British sports cruiser with the performance benefits of a substantial modern engine upgrade.

The standout feature of this particular boat is her repower with twin FPT Cursor 9 620hp six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines, showing approximately 600 hours. Significantly lighter and more fuel-efficient than the original Detroit engines, this upgrade has transformed her performance, bringing improved balance, responsive handling and impressive cruising capability.

The benefits extend well beyond the specification sheet. On a recent Channel crossing, she achieved an average cruising speed of over 30 knots, demonstrating her ability to cover distance swiftly and comfortably. With a reported maximum speed of approximately 38 knots and the option of a more economical cruise around 25 knots, she offers an appealing combination of pace and cruising flexibility. Propellers specifically matched to the FPT engines were fitted in 2022, completing this impressive upgrade.

Inside, the beautifully presented high-gloss cherry joinery gives the accommodation a warm and luxurious feel. Recently replaced carpets complement the interior, while three comfortable cabins provide excellent accommodation for family and guests. The spacious saloon and well-equipped galley make her equally suited to weekends aboard and longer cruising holidays.

Air conditioning throughout the saloon and cabins provides additional comfort, with a Kohler 10kW diesel generator supplying power away from the marina. Outside, the generous cockpit offers plenty of space for entertaining, complemented by two-tone beige and blue upholstery, a sun pad and Permateek decking across the cockpit and bathing platform.

Her updated navigation equipment includes a Raymarine 14-inch multifunction touchscreen, GPS, 4kW digital radar and an autopilot with gyro compass. A bow thruster assists with close-quarters manoeuvring, while the tender garage adds useful practicality.

The engines were serviced in August 2025, with both engine start and domestic batteries replaced in the same month. A June 2025 survey by Matt Folks is reported to confirm her excellent condition.
