Me-and-er was built as a retirement boat by the late Tony Miles, a well-known boat builder in Essex, who gained local recognition in the 1970s and 80s for constructing the International Canoe in beautifully crafted cold-molded varnished wood.
Since her first sea trial on August 22, 1999, and her official launch in 2000, Me-and-er has seen relatively little use.
Her current owner discovered the boat through an advertisement and instantly fell in love with her.
During her current ownership, the boat has been stored in a large heated shed. In 2019, Symon Wood & Son Boat Builders in Lymington undertook extensive restoration work, which included a full repaint of the topsides, new varnish, a reconditioned engine and running gear, along with a new composite swept deck and a reconfiguration of the cockpit.
